Workshops will be tailored to fit the time slot that you have available and the ages of the students.
Some topics that may be covered include:
-The history of medicinal plants.
-What is Herbal Medicine?
-How to grow a plant from seed.
-Introduction to some key (safe) medicinal plants with samples of each to taste, or live plants to learn from.
-Discussion of each plant's identifying features (plant families)
-Plant safety (poisonous plants)
-Safe natural body care and health care (possibly making an infused oil and lip balm)
-How to prepare a medicinal tea (making and tasting one).
-Plant games
-Nature walks to identify plants in the area (depending on season).
-Working in the school garden (if there is one), and creating a medicinal herb garden.
